Çà ñïîñîáîì çàâàíòàæåííÿ òà ðîçâàíòàæåííÿ âîíè áóâàþòü øâèäêîõ³äí³ òà òèõîõ³äí³. Åëåâàòîðè âèêîðèñòîâóþòü äëÿ òðàíñïîðòóâàííÿ íàñèïíèõ òà øòó÷íèõ âàíòàæ³â ï³ä êóòîì (á³ëüøå í³æ 600) òà âåðòèêàëüíî. Ïîõèë³ åëåâàòîðè íà ñêëîçàâîäàõ íå âèêîðèñòîâóþòü[9]. Åëåâàòîðè áóâàþòü êîâøîâ³, ïîëèöåâ³ òà ëþëå÷í³. Çà ñïîñîáîì çàâàíòàæåííÿ òà ðîçâàíòàæåííÿ âîíè áóâàþòü øâèäêîõ³äí³ òà òèõîõ³äí³. Ïî òèïó òÿãîâîãî ïðèñòðîþ åëåâàòîðè ïîä³ëÿþòüñÿ íà ñòð³÷êîâ³ òà ëàíöþãîâ³, ç îäí³ºþ òà äâîìà ëàíöþãàìè.  ñêëÿí³é ïðîìèñëîâîñò³ íàé÷àñò³øå âèêîðèñòîâóþòüñÿ øâèäêîõ³äí³ åëåâàòîðè ç â³äöåíòðîâè ðîçâàíòàæåííÿì.
